Theatre director, actor and educator Serge Martin came to our office to tell us about his project. He told us the story of an actor who talks about his impossible future show based on Lear, well, based on the Lears, i.e. Shakespeare’s Lear as well as Rodrigo García’s and Thomas Bernhard’s.

This story of fury reminds us so violently of our contemporary world. We listened and watched as images formed in our minds. He told us about his play and his world, and it made us want to see it for real; to see how he would tell you this actor’s dream; what his Lears would be like, how they would move; how this 400-year-old character would appear so familiar. He told us in our office how similar it would be to the story and how time and work would transform this story about the story of an actor who would look like Serge Martin but would also be someone else…
