Julie’s Party

Julie. Who would she be in 2018? Julie who? Strindberg’s Miss Julie. We were wondering how to address desire amidst issues of pure love, lawsuits and the Me too movement. So we asked a few artists we like to come to the theatre that once hosted a legendary staging of Julie (i.e. Matthias Langhoff’s). We called Luk Perceval. We called Tiago Rodrigues, Pascal Rambert, Christiane Jatahy, tg STAN and Amir Reza Koohestani. They said they would come, to talk about “their” Julie, their contemporary Julie, to write and talk about what they have to tell us about Strindberg and themselves. The evening is kaleidoscopic, with several shows performed on the various stages as well as in a box, the bar, and a costumes’ store. A small workshop theatre for you. It's a Julie’s, on the evening of Saint John’s day. It’s our opening, so it’s a party: Julie’s party!
