A melody of thoughts

24 - 28 sept 2019 | Grande salle

Concours européen de la chanson philosophique

Massimo Furlan & Claire de Ribaupierre

For this show, Massimo Furlan and Claire de Ribaupierre have tasked philosophers, anthropologists and historians with writing lyrics, real lyrics with verses and choruses that instead of love, talk about concepts that help us reconsider our contemporary world. All this in front of a jury of thinkers. A playful sort of response to the growing disdain of populist discourse towards the so-called intelligentsia that brings reflection into the heart of entertainment.

“Massimo has played football matches on his own. He has run in the Grand-Saint-Bernard tunnel in search of his Italian origins and made a film out of it. He has led a team of senior supermen through the streets here and elsewhere. Let’s not forget either his love for motorbikes and pop music (Italian of course). Based on all this, his childhood, melancholy of the passage of time, Massimo Furlan and Claire de Ribaupierre make enticing, uncategorizable shows. We wanted them to come and sing all this at La Comédie. Plus, it’s not every day that you get to see Lolita Morena within our walls!” NKDM
