Invent a better world in a utopian café in the heart of 1990s Zurich

22 jan - 01 feb 2020 | Grande salle | Durée : 1h30

Small g, une idylle d’été

Patricia Highsmith / Anne Bisang

Based on Patricia Highsmith, adaptation Anne Bisang & Mathieu Bertholet

A very young Peter is murdered by drug addicts. In Zurich’s gay community which gathers at the Small g, a usually peaceful café, this murder reveals the conflicts, fears and secret scars of the characters, Rickie, Peter’s friend, haunted by his fear of old age and AIDS, Luisa, a young, naïve seamstress under the heel of a hateful boss, and many others still…

“Because we loved the idea that producer and director of TPR – Théâtre populaire romand Anne Bisang would return to La Comédie de Genève which she directed for 12 years! Because we look forward to hearing how Mathieu Bertholet’s will rummage through this literary material to turn it into a thriller-inspired dramatic object. Because we believe that Anne Bisang, a militant woman, will have her heart set on pulling on the threads of this subversive fairy tale by Patricia Highsmith, author of The Talented Mr. Ripley.” NKDM
